ASPEN LAKES
CURT: Scenic course with snow capped ;mtns everwhere..red traps $1 mill shootout(got a BBQ..Ma;c my caddy)..tough 2d hole(par 5..Mac injlured...Brett? Tough 2d nine....TOm had a 76 on this course. BRETT: A favorite stop over, we never forget this course when we're in Central Oregon. Fortunately, we DO forget all memories of things that may have happened on the 2nd tee.
AWBREY GLEN
Mature greens and nifty clubhouse..several holes against large boulders and one two level fairway if take a chance..played with Fritz and Mary
BIG MEADOW
One of my favorites..we rent o house on the 12th fairway of this course..past 33 years...and across fairway is Paulina Springs (a retreat place for Mac and I in the AM). Best hole is No.14…elevated tee looking toward 3 finger Jack as a backdrop...stunning!! New traps and tees in 06 and new clubhouse and restaurant...Mt Jefferson and 3 sisters and mt Washington in views. Brett once shot 40 on the front and 31 on the back (ignored his dad after 9..upset) but got better after 18. Practice area looking right at Mt Jefferson.
BEND COUNTRY CLUB
Played though Suzie Herberger's dad: was a nice play..fairly flat but mature...other courses in area probably a little better overall.
CROOKED RIVER RANCH
An 18 hole layout in a ravine just off the main highway near Madras..Fairly interesting, and one that had to be played on the way.
